Senior Advisor for Public Affairs--This position will be the primary external relations liaison for the Office of HIV/AIDS within USAID’s Bureau for Global Health. This position is critical to the functioning of the office and the bureau in making sure that clear, consistent information on USAID’s HIV/AIDS programs is available to policymakers and the public.
To do this, the Senior Advisor will need to serve as a liaison to other U.S. government agencies (including OGAC, The White House, State Department, and Health and Human Services), staff, partners, advocates and multilateral organizations, such as the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Within USAID, the Senior Advisor will work closely with the leadership of the Office of HIV/AIDS, the Assistant Administrator for the Bureau for Global Health and will coordinate efforts with the Strategic Communication and Outreach Lead supporting the GHI Launch Team and staff in the Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs. The Senior Advisor will also work with communications advisors for USAID’s HIV/AIDS cooperating agencies. The Advisor will report to the director of the Office of HIV/AIDS.
Family Planning/Reproductive Health Technical Senior Advisor--This position serves in the Services Delivery (SDI) Division in the Office of Population and Reproductive Health (PRH) in the Bureau of Global Health. The Family Planning/Reproductive Health Technical Advisor will substantively contribute to the design, implementation, management and evaluation of all projects in the SDI FP/RH portfolio, contributing to the development of work plans and budgets and reviewing project products. S/he will contribute to the preparation of regular reports on project performance, as well as financial reporting, analysis, and projections. S/he will serve as one of the PRH FP/RH advisors on the Global Health Initiative (GHI) and other government initiatives and processes. S/he will provide technical support to the Missions and assist in keeping Mission health teams informed on Washington directions and health sector initiatives. S/he will receive direction from the SDI Private Sector Team Leader, serve as a member of the Private Sector Team, and work closely with SDI project managers and other technical staff, and with health staff in USAID regional bureaus and missions, USG, and external partners. |
