CAMRIS International and Global Med Technologies® team produce updates for the U.S. Air Force (UASF) and Armed Services’ Blood Program (ASBPO) Global Profile Blood Donor Database

Bethesda, MD – May 26 2009 – The CAMRIS/Wyndgate team issued a press release timed to coincide with its technical report submission on progress made in the creation of the BEST software prototype. BEST, developed with funding from the US Air Force, is a comprehensive blood management solution designed to meet specifications for the US Air Force (USAF), US Navy, and US Army. BEST will be easy and flexible to deploy in the field and can be embraced by other civilian blood donor facilities, national security, emergency response national forces, and NATO allies. The report includes goals achieved this quarter such as: a live demonstration of the USAF requirements for Global Donor Deferral using form DD572, the launching of a secure website for the public and working groups, an executed Data Use Agreement (DUA) between CAMRIS/USAF and the successful transfer of Air Force Blood Program (AFBP) DBSS data to CAMRIS. Work will continue next quarter with a specific focus on a live demonstration of BEST capabilities in performing: a) global “lookback” and b) accurate, timely, and readily available reports.
